Let anyone who wishes serve on a search committee evaluate resumes' then interview candidates first then recommend three candidates to get the prized final interview with the town board. The initial interview committee should include employees who may work in a subordinate position and have to answer to the applicant. Also include people who live outside of Greenburgh, as Paul feels, anyone who wants to serve whether it's a conflict or not or whether they live in our town or not. For example, one of those who interviewed the candidates for TDYCC commissioner was rewarded a transfer, to the department that the candidate was interviewing for, a promotion and substantial increase in salary. Included in the interviewing process was a disgruntled employee who had serious issues with one of the candidates. So if there is equity and justice, with respect to hiring practices and procedures, the town board should include all who desire to participate just as was done when looking for the commissioner of the TDYCC. As a point of information there were more than 20 people who were part of the committee and about 18 in the initial interview. (Unheard of in this town). But of course anything goes wen it comes to the Center. Why was this not done when hiring comptrollers, Tax assessor, and commissioner of DPW. There is truly a double standard. Since the Town Board introduced this committee for the hiring process, it should follow that it should be carried through out the town. Open up the process and the doors to include more residents, non residents employees and just any person who wants to take part in the process. It's about being fair and not having a double standard as happens all the time in this town.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33594888.post-29552492980632524302009-06-22T13:43:57.228-04:002009-06-22T13:43:57.228-04:00I believe it was under Feiners adminstration that ...I believe it was under Feiners adminstration that Town Board members started receiving health benefits and NYS Pension as "full-time" employees. They are not full-time employees. Someone should be checking their time sheets or don't they have to provide that info like every other civil servant? Are they padding their hours. How dare they collect $2,000 buy-out for health insurance. That's a bogus way of giving a $2,000 salary increase. If they don't need the coverage they should just decline it and give back the $2,000 to their taxpaying citizens. Shame on all of them!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33594888.post-87989907559848073352009-06-22T13:40:39.847-04:002009-06-22T13:40:39.847-04:00Why are candidates for boards & commissions be...Why are candidates for boards & commissions being interviewed in Executive Session? They are not employees, they are volunteers. They represent our communities on these various boards. Shouldn't the public know who is being considered and whether or not they qualify? Are they being appointed because they are supporters of local elected officials? Is anyone checking their qualifications in terms of residency? Do any have applications before the Town? Have they contributed to campaign funds of local officials? Do they pending litigation against the Town? If the Town is going to spend their time doing these interviews they should do in public so that we have a chance to ask questions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33594888.post-34194551513419433762009-06-22T12:49:04.309-04:002009-06-22T12:49:04.309-04:00I went in to check this park and I almost hit a sm...I went in to check this park and I almost hit a small dog that was unleashed running from one side of the road to another.
Yes many had leashes but in one moment they were unleashed and made to run arround .
Not good supervisor. It is open to only the financially well positioned Greenburgh children. The person who came up with these outrageous fees for travel camp is guilty of promoting de facto segregation. Residents of this town must not tolerate any program that promotes separating the haves from the have nots. Greenburgh has always had a policy that no resident would be denied participation in any program because of the inability to pay. There are so many children who would benefit from the experience of the travel camp who otherwise would not have an opportunity to travel beyond the boundaries of Greenburgh due to economics etc.Now Greenburgh is saying that there is no room for those who do not have deep pockets. How can the town board, supervisor Feiner and Commissioner of the Parks Dep't not see that by raising these fees without offering financial assistance eliminates a whole segment of the population. Remember the pole tax in the South. This is the equivalent, except that it now includes others who have been impacted by he economic down turn. Open this program to all youth regardless of ability to pay or close it. Travel camp, as most programs is not totally self sufficient....and besides that, the concept of a teen travel camp for a select group defies town policy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33594888.post-66615537616828004272009-06-19T07:27:12.240-04:002009-06-19T07:27:12.240-04:00How many other ways does our supervisor want to hu...How many other ways does our supervisor want to hurt the business people.

You had a commissioner who did nothing from the first day of flooding on E.
