  4. Good.I was afraid that you would have chosen Sir Francis for the position and then JUettner.
This should be and will be a new beginning to a good town government.
Who ever thought that we would have two council persons so knowledgable in so many matters concerning departments in our town.
This is what we need to clean up the waste.

  5. By doing this, Feiner has shown he doesnt want a less divisive council. His way or the highway. he is making no attempt at getting along.

  6. Good. I am glad that Feiner has decided to appoint Town Council members rather than outsiders. It shows that Feiner is willing to work with the Town Council. Now the two holdoivers have to show that they will work with Feiner.

  7. 10:27,you have got to be kidding,in placing anyone on the old council in this position is crazy.
They are the ones that put us in this hole.
If this happened Sheehan would have gotten more power,to ruin us .
    Feiner made the right choice.
    Keep up the good work.

  10. The PAULITBURO - Representational government in Greenburgh died this afternoon. After a long illness punctuated by moments of hope, the last vestiges of democracy in the second largest municipality in Westchester succumbed to partisan political fever. Efforts to bring diverse opinions together for the benefit of all were abandoned when the Supervisor chose, without consultation with anyone, to appoint only his recent running mates to Deputy Supervisorships. Funeral services will not be held as the expense involved would offend the Supervisor.

  11. The last blogger is nuts. What the hell does the Deputy Supervisor do anyway? Nothing. it is only the Town Board which has the power to do anything?

And why should Feiner appoint Sheehan and Juettner, who have given him nothing but grief. They will have the opportunity to continue talking whenever they wish. We can only hope that they will talk in a more cooperative way than they have in the past.

  12. What the heck is a deputy supervisor? We need a mayor/manager, not another fluff position.

  15. Can I ask a question ? Why are the taxes for the Hartsdale Fire Department so high ?

They dont even respond to EMS calls ???

    Anyone ???

  16. Paul, Kevin, Sonja should try to persuade the fire districts to consolidate or share services. This is one way to cut expense.

  17. Regarding 11/16 2:10pm ... Agreed! What an embarrassment our government is pretending we're a rural community when we're a major metropolitan municipality. We need a Mayor-Manager.

  18. It seems to me, "to the victo go the spoils." In sports, when a new oach comes on board, he brings in his own assistants. In business, when a new CEO or othe manager comes in he brings in his own team, people who see eye-to-eye with him.
All altruism aside, Feiner is doing what is most comfortable for him. It may be a form of nepotism, but I don't think if the roles were reversed, something different would be happening.

His selection of his team/running mates for this "ceremonial"-position-without- real-power, is not worthy of discourse when we're facing huge tax increases today and for the forseeable few years.

  19. Make cuts in the PD department and the DPW.
    Check their figures real close.
We dont't need anymore hires in both dept, since no one seems to retire from a real comfey job..

  20. To the jackass who keeps posting about taxes in Hartsdale Fd why don't you run for commissioner in December and do something about it!
