At last nights Town Board meeting the Board unanimously agreed to authorize the commissioner of public works to issue an RFP/RFQ for professional services for watershed analysis and engineering studies to determine the causes of flooding for the town. The following areas will be looked at:
Hartsdale Brook in Hartsdale--------E Hartsdale Ave
Manhattan Park Brook in Fairveiw
Mine Brook and Saw Mill River in N Elmsford
Troublesome brook in Edgemont

ReplyDeleteHuh? I know the supervisor's posting says it's in Edgemont, but I can't picture where it is.
ReplyDeleteTroublesome Brook runs parallel to Central Avenue south from about Underhill Road. It was partially covered years ago. Behind the Greenville Fire House you can still see it above ground.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure others can give you a better sense of its full length and current status, but I recall the parking lot at the Fire House used to flood after heavy rains.

ReplyDeleteI am resident of 40 Dalewood Drive, Hartsdale. My house was flooded and damaged badly in April. What Brook does my street belong to? Please advise. Mulong Yu
ReplyDeleteWhy would the town pay for its own study when the county is already handling it on a regional level? Seems like a waste of town money and an unnecessary duplication of efforts.
