A new restaurant, specializing in fine caribbean cuisine, has opened in Greenburgh --the only restaurant of its kind in Westchester County.
Sunsplash is located at 209 Saw Mill River Road (across from Payne Street--seconds away from the multiplex movie theater), Elmsford (592-5830).
I attended the ribbon cutting ceremonies and then enjoyed some samplings of their delicious food. If you are interested in trying a new restaurant - you won't be disappointed if you take your family to this new restaurant.
The food is great. The quality is excellent. The service is fantastic. And, their prices are very reasonable.
In this difficult economy - it's important to support our local businesses and to thank new businesses for making Greenburgh their home. Greenburgh is very lucky to have Sunsplash in our community.

This is OK for a blog, but was completely inappropriate to distribute using the Town's e-list.
Mr. Feiner confuses his roles as member of the community and elected leader. Yet another argument for professional management.
Is the menu vegetarian or does it include traditional specialties like goat?
I know the area well, nice place but careful when the rainstorms come it brings the rats close to 9A ask anybody who works over that way
This is the corner of death. Restaurants can't stay in business & pedestrians get killed by cars. I wish them luck!
I agree that it was highly unprofessional for Mr. Feiner to send this as Town e-mail.
Feiner should be the town cheerleader. It's important for him to use his office to help small, medium and major businesses that locate here succeed. The alternative: empty buildings. Certiorari's.
You did the right thing, Paul
No brainer! Help our struggling new and old businesses survive! It's appropriate to publicize opening day ceremonies. It's done all the time with big companies.
Supervisor needs to supervise town operations much more than be a cheerleader. Fine for a casual blog posting, but very inappropriate as an official Town e-mail.
If businesses fail, certiorari's increase. Taxes will be higher.
If that were so Feiner, how come the value of unincorporated Greenburgh's tax base is the same as it was the day you were elected back in 1991? Are the avalanche of tax certioraris during your tenure in office due to business failures? I didn't think you'd admit to that.
Elected officials all over the country attend dedication ceremonies and use their good offices to say some nice things about new businesses. Shouldn't Greenburgh do the same?
"Shouldn't Greenburgh do the same?"
Sure, but not as an official Town e-mail for just one business.
what's next - movie reviews?
thats all finer is qulified to do; dining reviews for news 12
Maybe if my property taxes didn't increase by an average of $1000 a year for the past five years, I'ld have more money to take my family out to eat.
TDY TEMPORARY COMMISSIONER ALLOWED TO CONTINUE SIX FIGURE JOB WHILE UNDER POLICE INVESTIGATION
To Supervisor Feiner and the Members of the Town Council:
As there is an official police investigation currently underway regarding Ms. Whitehead, why are my tax dollars subsidizing her salary? As she is alleged to have hired "No-Show" jobs, including her nephew (who is a convicted felon), why is she allowed to remain in that position?
At the very least shouldn't Ms. Whitehead be placed on Administrative Absence until the completion of the investigation?
Does it serve the public interest of tax payers to have her continue in a job like nothing happened? What example does this set for our young people and honest employees who are working their 9-5 jobs everyday? It's apparent that she had much to hide, because when the police entered the building, she ran out and didn't show up until five days later. These actions do not point to innocence. I feel sorry for all the employees of that center who work every day, who are dedicated, and wouldn't dream of being paid for more than one minute for which they worked. She has brought embarrassment and shame to that center. A cover up, or lack of response by Supervisor Feiner is unacceptable. The people of Greenburgh deserve an explanation about the current goings on at the center.
Is our Town Comptroller asleep at his desk while all this is happening?
Our comptroller is not sleeping .May I ask what does he have to do what goes on at the center.
His job is accounting for the money.
The ones in charge of the center should answer all your questions.
How about asking the park and rec. commissioner these questions.
Betcha no one wants to .
Are you saying that the comptroller is in total control of the center.
Well buddy you have the wrong person to put the blame on.
Why not ask Feiner??????
Is he not the one that has the final say ???????
MAybe since you are complaining about the goings on at the center report this to the proper authority as the police, the state comptroller and above all the attorney general.
The state and the county give this center plenty of grants that are not used other than to stuff their pockets.
We the taxpayers fit the other half of these grants.
The supervisor thinks that what he is doing is one hundred percent correct.
What he is doing is buying votes.
COMPARING THE PAUL OF 1992 TO THE ONE OF 2008
1992: There should be term limits.
2008: Except for me of course.
1992: Criticizes Tony Veteran for the use of cars for town employees.
2008: The Greenburgh fleet has expanded to 22 vehicles, all of which go home at night.
1992: I promise to follow up, and actually did at that time.
2008: Could someone explain to me what follow-up means?
1992: Kept his word.
2008: Put it this way, if you put a poly-graph near him, it would never shut down.
1992: Let’s have citizen committees for many different aspects that improve life in Greenburgh.
2008: What’s a committee?
1992: You could call him at home.
2008: Please deposit 75 cents for the first minute.
1992: If this blog existed, it would be full of praise, support, and promise for a bright future.
2008: 90% of the postings here are complaints because of inconsistent following of the rules, favoritism, citizens not being treated fairly, staff morale non-existent, and Paul’s reputation has denigrated to your stereo-typical negative politician. Anything to get reelected, anything to avoid confrontation, and talking on both sides of his mouth. Many of us who live in the town don’t really want to talk to you Paul, because we have no faith in your word which is meaningless.
HOW DO WE GET THE GUY FROM 1992 BACK?
WE ALL LIKED HIM MUCH BETTER THAN THIS 2008 EDITION.
