A rare opportunity has presented itself for our area high school students to participate in an “Open Mic” session this coming Saturday, September 25th beginning at 12:30pm. We are hoping to attract at least one student from each of our area school districts to participate. Performances will be video-taped and shown on the local Town of Greenburgh cable television channels.
If you are aware of students who you feel would want to participate, please have them contact me, Judith Beville, Greenburgh Town Clerk, at 993-1504, by Friday, 9/24.
The Town has extended the deadline for participating as a vendor in the October 9th day of festivities, “A Dry Sale – Like an Old Fashioned Block Party and Garage Sale,” to be held, rain or shine, at the Greenburgh Town Hall, 177 Hillside Avenue, Greenburgh, NY from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The new deadline is: October 1, 2010. To reserve your space, please call: (914) 993-1627 and leave your name, phone number and fax number, if one is available. Spaces are filling up. There’s one with your name on it; you just have to call us to confirm!
Greenburgh Public Library Board of Trustees Vacancy

In order to fill a current vacancy on the Library Board, the Greenburgh Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a resident of unincorporated Greenburgh to serve out the remainder of a term on the Board of Trustees. The current term runs through December 31, 2012. NYS Education Law authorizes the Board of Trustees to fill a vacancy created by a resignation.
Please email a letter of interest in the position and a résumé to Eugenie Contrata, Library Director at econtrata@greenburghlibrary.org, or mail to Greenburgh Public Library Board of Trustees, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford, NY 10523. All submitted resumes will be reviewed, interviews will be scheduled and the Greenburgh Town Council will be informed of the appointment by December 1, 2010.

The Greenburgh Public Library is an educational corporation chartered by the NYS Regents. The Library is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of seven to nine residents of unincorporated Greenburgh. The Board is responsible for all Library operations, for example, establishing the Library's mission, policies, long-term goals, financial oversight, and the appointment of all Library personnel.
