Just got off the phone with the Con Ed liaison working with Greenburgh. Have some positive news to report: There are now 10 crews working throughout the town in Greenburgh...21 bucket trucks...an area in Edgemont has been hit hard and they are going to work much of the day there -- so schools could re-open. We expect big progress today.

Part of the problem has been tree branches that overhang electrical wires. As a preventative the town should survey and remove all overhanging branches that appear to be prime candidates to recreate a problem in a future storm. While this will not prevent future power outages it could reduce the number of such incidents significantly.
