STATE OFFICIALS LOOKING TO KEEP DOBBS FERRY HOSPITAL OPEN AS AS AMBULATORY CARE OR SUB EMERGENCY URGENT CARE CENTER
An article in today's Westchester County Business Journal (www.westchestercountybusinessjournal.com) indicated that progress is being made regarding efforts to keep the Community Hospital at Dobbs Ferry open! State officials are looking to keep the hospital open as an ambulatory care or sub emergency urgent care center. An aggressive lobbying campaign to save the hospital has been waged. The community hospital is a profit making hospital and provides our community with important medical services. I am glad that the Spitzer administration is considering options to save this community treasure! I also want to thank Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins for providing leadership on tihs important issue.

If the hospital becomes an ambulatory care or sub emergency urgent care center, will it still be able to receive patients by ambulance?
I will be in contact with hospital officials and with Senator Cousins office later in the week. I feel that this report is good news because it shows that positive movement is being made. There has been no official recommendation or announcement as of yet.
What has Senator Cousins done to help keep this hospital open ? If Nick Spano was still in office this would have already been decided to keep it open.
Andrea Stewart Cousins has done a tremendous amount. She invited the Minority Leader of the Senate to tour the hospital. She has discussed the importance of the hospital with high level state officials. I believe that she has the ear of the Governor and key state officials on this issue.
WE SHOULD ALL GIVE SENATOR COUSINS A CALL BECAUSE THIS HOSPITAL IS NECESSARY FOR THE COMMUNITY.THE SERVICE ONE RECEIVES IN THIS HOSPITAL IS THE GREATEST. IN THIS MATTER WE SHOULD ALL PULL TOGETHER AND LET IT HAPPEN.WE ,IN YONKERS AND GREENBURGH NEED THIS HOSPITAL
Thank you for working so hard to save the hospital.
This an intelligent compromise. Really the beds aren't needed (excess in the county overall), but to have an urgent care center at that location would be wise.
The hospital is needed not a health care center.Where are your brains. This hospital is not in debt, and has a good staff. We have enough Doc'S offices arround for health care.
