COMMUNITY HOSPITAL AT DOBBS FERRY SAVED

Great news! The community hospital at Dobbs Ferry has been saved. 14 months ago NYS announced plans to close down the hospital. The entire community worked together to persuade the state that the hospital (which makes a profit) should be allowed to stay open. State Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins was recognized by hospital officials at the official announcement ceremony (held at noon) for the key role she played in saving the hospital - reaching out to the Governor, state health officials and prominent lawmakers.

A special thanks to the hundreds of residents who signed or circulated petitions, wrote letters, put lawn signs on your front lawns, called lawmakers. Your voice was heard. This hospital is a community treasure. PAUL FEINER

Thank you for all the work that was done not only by Cousins, the town and especially the residents.
If other things in Greenburgh will fall into place as this did OH WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE.

Hopefully they'll increase their urgent care services/capacity, which is what the hospital is most needed for in the area.

What the heck did Sen Cousins do ?
Are you kidding us ?
We need Sen Spano Back!!

First question --Do you think that Spano did anything?

Second question -- why can't you take good news without putting a pall on it?

Sheehan saved the day. Wasn't it his family that was so sick that they single handedly put the hospital back in the red???

Has anyone noticed how much their rates have gone up since last year.
Check it out,we need the hospital but their rates are going through the roof.
Will we be paying dearly for this salvation?

I don't know what illnesses befell the Sheehan family, but I'm certain their agragate illnesses did not leave them as sick as you.
There's a room in Creedmore waiting for you.

I don't think people who don't care for Francis would disagree that you are a sicko.

I was glad to read in the JN about the hospital's new structure. We didn't need all those beds, so hopefully prices will go down now that its primary focus will be just an urgent care clinic extension for St. John's.
