"growing movement to push for the abolishment of county governments"
What needs to be abolished first is the antiquated township system which was designed to serve rural, sparsely settled areas.

When I receive notification of this law I will comply . If no letter your scare tactics are useless.
How about consolidating the GC and Elmsford school districts? Both are small, underpopulated and over-staffed. Surely significant tax savings would result.
How about merging all the schools, Fire Dept's, and Police Dept's in Greenburgh!
true, dont need ELMSFORD POLICE,ARDSLEY POLICE,AND IRVINGTON ,SHOULD BE ALL CALLED THE CITY OF GREENBURGH.TOO MANY HIGH SCHOOLS.ALL YOU NEED IS ONE LARGE CAMPUS.DO AWAY WITH SOME OF DO NOTHING TEACHERS.THATS HOW YOU SAVE TAX PAYERS.ALSO ONE DPW.
Just stop for a moment and think it through.
If one consolidates all of the Departments of Public Works, Police Departments, and the like, one would then consolidate the various Parks and Recreation departments. Ardsley would get access to Veteran Park, Fairview would have access to Mathiessen Park in Irvington and the Finneran Law would, as the lawyers say, become moot. Then what would happen to this blog?
paul - i was disappointed in your show. you wasted time with the governor's senate pick.
you could have asked where consolidation has worked in the state. your guest did not have anything really insightful to say other than what everyone knows how locals want control over their police department.
overall - a big nothing other than his statement that objecting to county government on the grounds of its cost or spano's cost is a non-starter.
