Policy Director
The New York League of Conservation Voters, a nonprofit, nonpartisan environmental political action organization, seeks a Policy Director to help develop and advocate for the organization's priorities for New York State and New York City governments. The Policy Director will also work with our chapters in Long Island, New York City, Westchester and the Capital District to assist with the development of local priorities.
The Policy Director will direct the lobbying activities that take place in the state capitol and New York City Council and work with staff to develop on-line advocacy and educational programs.
This job will be based in the New York City office.
Qualifications:
*3- 5 years experience minimum; Masters Degree preferred
*Excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills
*Strong computer skills
*A self-starter, team player and a sense of humor
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

It is about time that the town has decided to take down the tiles from the hideous wall at web field. I wonder if the job will go unfinished like other past attempts.

The tiles where ripped off, leaving partially broken ones behind.
Really? How freakin dumb is this?
Children made these tiles. They are individually unique.
The wall is a disgrace.
And what do tiles have to do with this job opening?
I'm confused.
Perhaps Hal has something to say about tiles and how to properly install them. He is SUCH an expert on EVERYTHING.

Since you asked...
For starters you don't paste the tiles up with Elmer's Glue and double-faced tape.
And then using the proper adhesive you mount them (indoors) first on a non-porous backing panel and after the binding agent dries properly) AND then and only then do you afix the tile section to the wall.
This allows the tiles to set properly BEFORE they are exposed to the elements. You might even throw a coat of some clear sealant over the exposed surfaces.
And while you're at, you might even frame the whole tile area so that moisture won't be able to accumulate along the top, gaining access to the tile backs through bubbles and cracks and working its way downward where, in cold winter, it will freeze, expand and act as a lever to wedge the tiles free.
Of course, none of this could be done if the ruling agenda was not premanency or preservation but to have the FIRST 9/11 memorial in the County.

Paul's Fire District consolidation committee has its first big decision to make tomorrow. Do they include a study of the Fire Protection Districts or don't they. My guess is that Feiner has already ordered Hochberg not to. Feiner does not want the taxpayers to know that the citizens of the Fire Protection Districts are funding the Villages!!! Yes, that's right, their tax dollars are being gobbled up by the Villages and NOT for their fire protection! State Law dictates that only up to 35% of the contract amount can be given over to the Village Fire Departments for Fire Protection. Remember those words "up to." That means that by LAW, a MINIMUM of 65 cents of every dollar that the citizens of the Fire Protection Districts pay out in taxes remains with the Villages!!!!! Shhhhhhhh! Feiner does not want that info out there for public consumption. Feiner is raping the Fire Protection Districts in order to fund the Villages!!!! Is this why several of the Fire Protection Districts are run at a defecit Paul???????
