TODAYS TERRORIST ATTACK HIGHLIGHTS NEED TO SAVE BUS

ANOTHER REASON TO SAVE THE EXPRESS BUS TO NYC
TODAYS MOSCOW TERRORIST ATTACK HIGHLIGHTS ANOTHER REASON WHY COMMUTERS NEED THE WESTCHESTER-MANHATTAN BUS
COMMUTERS NEED ALTERNATIVE TO TRAIN TO GET OUT OF CITY
Heightened alerts and potential threats every day (Moscow train station and heightened levels of security for grand central during the normal course of day to day) commuters deserve a travel alternative that is not considered a prime target in the event of a heightened alert.
In the event of a terrorist attack having a bus service as an alternative to the rails provides commuters with another way to leave NYC safely. After 911 one of the preferred ways to get out of the city was by bus. I have received a few unsolicited calls from residents of Greenburgh about this. This is a very valid point.
The Westchester-Manhattan bus must be saved. It’s my hope that the County Executive will reconsider the recommendation to eliminate the bus.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor

we need this bus to get out of the city in case of a terrorist attack? why kind of a lunatic blog is this? the bus is needed but not for this ridiculous reason. i just got my property tax bill...it has gone up of course. 'mo money, 'mo money; just never ends. wait till i get clobbered with the school taxes in september. why don't you spend some productive time not killing me on taxes instead of the dumb bus line? new york state and westchester taxes...just can't take it anymore...one of the reasons i am florida bound soon.

Stephen ( and others ) .. have you been away, on some other planet, since 9/11? Are you aware that we are in the middle of a war, and national security & safety is a very real issue?
Eliminatiing this valuable route is NOT going to lower your tax bill, and is not the answer.
If this line goes, it WILL however cause a multitude of other issues. Lower property values, more unemployment, businesses closing, people relocating etc.,
Guess what will happen then.. with less people able to contribute to the pot... YOUR tax bill will .. guess what ... go even further up!

Lisa, read more carefully... I am in favor of keeping the bus route. :)
