COURT TO ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS
The Greenburgh Town Court will start accepting credit card payments for violations, fines around July 1st according to Cecile Sia, court clerk. The new trailers (which will provide the court with additional space) are expected to be installed at the court on May 29th. This will be a great convenience for those who have to make payments to the court and could also increase the collection rate of fines.

Did you request that they keep your CC info on file for your future violations?
Great, now the court can steal personal info as well!
Will these payments go through as standard credit card charges or be processed as cash advances (typically carring interest charges) as the IRS does?
Have the recommendations of the former comptroller for establishing appropriate internal controls been implemented?
If so, this should be a worthwhile step towards modernization.
If not, sadly this will cause more problems than it will solve.

The first answer is no.
The second point is this will no doubt cause more problems than already exist. Come to the next Town Board meeting and learn more, sadly much more and bring along an air sickness bag as you may get an upset stomach. What a disaster !!!
Who gets charged for the credit card fees? The court? The town? The State? I don't think that the State will allow any credit card charges, so the Town will pay them.
Wonderful. Another way to lose income.
Lots of luck Mr. Finer.
Greenburgh Court is now into the
21st century.
