ASPHALT MILLINGS ON SPRAIN NEAR DOBBS FERRY RD

A number of constituents have expressed concern about the asphalt millings stored adjacent to the SB Spraing Brook Parkway at Route 100 B, Dobbs Ferry Road. The NYS DOT has sent me a letter stating "that this material is being stored there for the dept's future use.The material is used in the maintenance of our roads, and it is important that we we keep a supply of this material available. We monitor the area to make sure it is not used by the public as a dumping site and except for the asphalt millings stored there the area is quite clean."
Can't the state find another location?

NIMBY, not in my backyard, would be the understandable response from anyone. Though there's a lot of space at the town's highway department property, and that wouldn't bother any residents. Perhaps the town could volunteer some space there.

Put them on Sheehan's front lawn. If he wants to do something constructive, he should step up to the plate and volunteer his property.

only if feiner mves that webb field wall into boulder ridge where he lives

The wall is a tribute to those who died on 9/11. It is disrespectful to the memories of the 2,975 who died that day for someone to want to move the memorial. Typical of a Sheehan supporter.

I find that wall to be an eyesore, at best. It is disrespectful to those who died, as well as to those of us living, to have put it there in the first place, and to continue to keep it inappropriately placed there.

The wall is not an eyesore,it's a reminder of all that died on that day. Too bad that you show your true colors of a hipocrit ,maybe if one member in your family had perished that day,you would not speak in that manner.Do you refer to yourself as an american,I doubt it.

No one can put anything on Feiners front lawn becuz he lives in a gated community.

Anonymous said...

Are you jealous that Feiner lives in a gated area.

Anonymous said...

No, I am not jealous.

I do find it annoying that a politician chooses to live in an area where he is not dependent upon town services, and doesnt have to deal with the many issues others do (neighbors parking cars on front lawn, leaving out garbage, potholes, parks not maintained) which makes one question his senstivity to these issues, that many have complained about.

Feiner lives in a condo, without a garage! Living in a condo has its pluses but also minuses. The streets within the condo are the responsibility of the owners, not the town.

9;34 Sell your house and try to buy a condo anywhere in town.
Then and only then will you leave us alone who do live in a gated area.
Do we complain as to how you live.NO.
This is how many of choose to live ,so we can enjoy life without thinking of all the work we have to do outside.
If Feiner chooses to live in a condo it's no business of your.
If maintenance and services are not to your expectations,go to the dept. head who is not doing the job he was paid for.

Excuse me, it is the supervisors responsbility to see that these things are dont. Or what is his job?

the wall is an eyesore and destroyed the last stretch of open space between yonkers and white plains on central avenue. it signifies nothing. its in the wrong place. it was all about paul feiner issuing a press release. it was also wrong to give the other side of the wall to the rotary - this is a public park - advertising should not be allowed.

the most egregious thing about the wall is that $15,000 in FEMA money was used to build it. tell that to the victims of katrina.

westchester has a true 9-11 memorial - its in valhalla at kensico dam.

the greenburgh wall should be taken down.

that wall is a disgrace to those who died ... every proud greenburgh-american should petition for its immediate relocation

and the asphalt millings should be piled at the highway dept ... plenty of space and out of sight

12;11,,,,Get a life. The wall stays there since it represents what America is all about.
You say Fema funds were used for this project,so why make a big deal out of it.
You have to be thankful that Fema paid monies toward the wall, because Fema has backed out of so many of it's obligations.
Did your tax dollars go to the project,if yes it's well worth it,,if not shut up and pause once a day for the ones that died and are dying for my freedom and yours.

a proper all westchester 9-11 memorial exists in valhalla. the one in greenburgh is something that stands for everything america is not about - or at least should not be about - the publicity seeking paul feiner - supervisor for life - who (along with his then gang of idiots) forced this mess on greenburgh. the site is wrong. the wall is hideous and has no message at all.

its just a bunch of tiles no one wanted assembled by a no name "artist" without any community input. the way to stop anymore webb field walls is to get rid of feinerism.

I do believe that the supervisor should live in unincorporated part of greenburgh. I would suggest the Town board make that an amendment. If you live in the town you will care more about town issues.

Anonymous said...

Oh please, Feiner lives in unincorporated Gburgh and all he cares about is that the Village residents have more votes.

good point anon at 4:54. sad but true.

Anonymous said...

huh?
he does live in unincorporated greenburgh

i thought he lived in scarsdale. i often see the "problem solver" mobile parked in a driveway on Fox Meadow Road

Anonymous said...

no, that's where his sister/campaign treasurer lives ... he lives on sprain road

Anonymous said...

maybe we should move feiner's webb field wall to fox meadow road?

Anonymous said...

good idea (and maybe move feiner there as well)

It would bew OK for Feiner to live in a gated community, if he had bought the property.
It was a gift of the developer - check the tax records!
