This blog is about a year old. During the past year the blog has seen more than 97,000 visits!
Post your comments about town issues. My guess is that we will reach the 100,000 mark this week.

The Town Supervisor was Anthony Veteran - not Paul Feiner.

If you want to rewrite history at least get some of your facts straight.

The opposition to the facility revolved around the inexperience of the provider with servicing the needs of the proposed population - and the levels of staffing to be provided. The original plans were modified to provide fewer residents with very high needs and increased staff with more experience dealing with the specific population involved.

The community, including the "first responders" of the Greenville Fire District, has never received a penny from the Town to compensate for the additional services being provided. Generous community members have donated funds to recognize the additional costs - things like a significant increase in the number of emergency medical calls responded to by Greenville.

Many Edgemonters actively supported, and continue to support the facility. We've stepped up time and time again, and the repeated Edgemont bashing is both childish and unjustified - grow up and try to conduct yourself in a way which would make your mother proud.

Stop the BS, Edgemont did not want the facility in their area.
All of a sudden they are in favor of group homes.
Let's face it the fire dept. has to respond to the calls coming from that home since it is in the Greenville district.
Sorry about my naming the wrong supervisor that was in office,I was sure that it was in Feiner's time,in office.
If it was Tony ,he did the right thing..

once again the 9-11 memorial will be held at veteran park - not at the heap of concrete in front or webb field/presser park which feiner foisted on the town (and for which FEMA funds were used in its construction)which is a supposed memorial wall for 9-11.

the wall (and feiner) should be removed.

You haven't a clue what Edgemont wants - and you haven't the decency to be ashamed.

The cost of additional calls to service our community residents is one the Greenville community accepts - and we don't go whining to the Town expecting to be bought off. The notion that Edgemont is somehow less "deserving" than other parts of the Town is a wonderful demonstration of reverse racism at its ugliest.

The reason you all panic when Edgemont has the temerity to discuss becoming a village like Irvington or Dobbs is because you are desperately afraid you will suddenly need to begin paying for the services you feel you are "entitled" to receive. Why are you entitled? Solely because some ne'er do well scion of a modest real estate empire who grew up in Scarsdale feeling guilty thinks you are. Paul knows in the deepest secret part of his soul that he is better than you are and he feels the white man's burden to raise you to his level. He does it from behind his wall of power and privilege - and he shows you Edgemont as a target because he secretly wants to live there - or across the tracks in "real" Scarsdale. Conspiracists among you should readily recognize that Scarsdale on the east side of the railroad tracks has a VERY big stake in keeping Fairview down, and has offered up PJF as a sacrificial lamb to preserve itself. How else would you explain that the largest dollar amounts collected from "independent" individual donors comes from his family and their friends in "real" Scarsdale?

Go back to your lackey status, as the dog running Feiner's secret iomperialist campaign for racial superiority - and make sure to claim credit when the sun comes up tomorrow.

A group home. Horrors!

How many occupants of this group home living right in the middle of all that is so sacrosanct.

And where exactly is this right in the middle of a neighborhood.

I always like to know what it is that is being discussed.

Dear 10:23,
Get the facts right, Steve Bass wants you to check for yourself.

Feiner and the Town Council jointly foisted.

Look at the pictures taken at the various photo ops.
Isn't that Steve Bass, Eddie Mae Barnes, Diana Juettner and Francis Sheehan standing beside Feiner?

FEMA made a mistake in granting money to the "Artist" and the Westchester Arts Council. What does this have to do with Greenburgh?

The previous comment sounds like it would be Ron O'shea.
Am I right Ron.

You're pathetic. You can't even get the names of the people you want to demean correct.
Gerard (Rod) O'Shea has been an active and valued member of the community for more than 30 years.

memo to hal - greenburgh made a mistake in electing paul feiner as wannabe supervisor for life. lets correct the error on 9/18

ps - feiner supported the FEMA grant and still defends it.

It's amazing reading this blog. Everybody wants to Supervisor. Everybody knows everything. Unfortunately these hateful wannabies drown out the few who have something useful to say, those who have knowledge, responsibility and public-spiritness.

the biggest wannabe is paul feiner - wants to be supervisor for life. he said in 1991 he would serve 8 years - now he wants 18!

Sure, and Barnes wants four more years so that she will have 20 and a state pension. And next time around Juettner will want four more years so that she will have 20 and a state pension.

And you don't think that Sheehan is eyeing a Supervisor for Life position when his place-holder, Berger, gets her judgship or Albany deal?

Get real. Every elected official wants to be reelected.

Samis is a genious, I would love to see affordable housing in Edgemont. How about that land Bernstien meet with the board about, maybe thats why he was there he was looking for a place for affordable housing.
Bernstien go with that!!!

Affordable housing in Edgemont will be perfect.
They probably will receive a grant every year from the state so they won't be hollering.
Let's see if the tables are turned, how the Bernsteins and his followers would react to the situation.
But we have forgotten one thing the four members on the board have to vote on it, and you know ,because Bernstein and McNally are their silent bosses,it will never pass, the first word in the resolution.
