One of the biggest quality of life concerns for some people in the community is the lack of athletic fields around town. There is a shortage of field space for soccer teams, football and baseball competitions.
Your suggestions would be welcome and appreciated!

Plenty of other locations around the town, too. I doubt you'd have much difficulty with neighbors and zoning and such if they're just going to be a seasonal playing fields. I just looked at a map and visualized, but I'd think there'd be a municipal department that could determine all possible areas with their slopes and ownership and such with just a few keystrokes, no?
Is there really a shortage of fields? If Greenburgh Parks and Rec would stop allowing teams from the Villages to participate in Town leagues, I think there would be sufficient fields.
How about the scate park, what ever happened to that.
There is a real shortage of fields in Greenburgh.East Rumbrook Park is over used now and the demand for field space in town is high. I would like to see the Town team up with Geenburgh Central 7 and maybe help move the extra dirt that was dumped on the old football field by the gym cutting cost to move the dirt. Even split the cost of putting in a new artificial turf field. The school would use it for school programs and the Town would use it for Rec programs.Putting in a artificial field would cut down on wear and tear (maintenace) of the field.
PAUL YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. WE HAVE PLENTY OF FIELDS NOW. DO YOU THINK PEOPLE ARE MADE OF MONEY IN GREENBURGH.
The Parks Department should enforce the need for permits, drive by Webb field on a Sat or Sunday and you will see hundreds of day laborers playing volleyball and drinking, residents cant even bring our families there.
You should have used the WestHelp money for field acquisition, instead of giving the bulk of it to the Valhalla School District and the Mayfair-Knollwood Civic Association.
Anons at 4:32 and 7:25, these are both good ideas. We need better control over our parks.
I dont want artificial turf. I dont think it is as good for the enviornment.
