TAX COLLECTIONS WERE HIGH IN SEPTEMBER
David Dwinell, Receiver of Taxes, advised the Board during our work session that tax collection in September (first half of school tax bill) was slightly higher than last years collection. I was pleased with this news - in light of the bad world wide economic crisis.

I am not pleased that my mortgage company is raising my payment by $150 a month to cover my escrow shortage arising from increased local taxes.
Most of the tax hikes are from the schools. The town taxes are less than 17% of your tax bill.
Yes, and Paul encourages housing, such as Westhab, which will increase school expenses with insufficient taxes. In his position, he could support the schools. He does not. We need people who will.

Police arrive at Community Center on Sept 13th
Upon their arrival, Valerie Whitehead abruptly leaves Center.
She doesn't return until 5 days later.
She doesn't contact staff.
At least 15 staff members are asked to report to Greenburgh Police for questioning.
Center’s security tapes taken by Police.
Time cards taken by Police.
5 p/t staff including Whitehead's nephew somehow put in 50 hours per week.
The Center is closed for evening programs during September.
Whitehead authorized these hires and their excessive hours without the knowledge of the Town Board.
Whitehead stops staff meetings.
Whitehead attempts to block transfer of James Robinson to Center.
Whitehead offers no statement on occurrence or explanation.

Dear Mr. Feiner -
Your deep ignorance of financial matters is showing again.
Of course the revenues were up - the taxes were up. If 80% of the bills are paid on time, and last years taxes totalled $100, the Town would collect $80.
If the same 80% figure holds but taxes have risen by 10%, the Town should collect $88. As $88 is more than $80, you report, with apparent astonishment that collections are up.
It is your failure as the Town's chief financial officer which has caused a considerable amount of the problem. Please retire at the end of this term and let competent managers take over in the time you have left.
If you truly love Greenburgh, the time has come for you to recognize you lack the skills necessary to do the job of Supervisor.
Tax collections were high for one reason we do not want to loose our homes.
This time payments were made on time but who knows what will happen the next time arround.
Resining should be in order for some other board memeber other than just Feiner.
Sheehan and Juettner because they voted for all that cost the tax payers muti bucks. One of the new members also Sonya Brown since she only works for the residents of Fairview.
You all seem to forget you were voted in to represent all the people of Greenburgh not just a few.
Feiner follows the flow.
He refuses to understand that the public is fed up with the way the town has been and is run.
If there is a legal way to impeach all four let us know.
Things will not get better having them make decesions on how to run this town after the downfall.
Gee, other than gasoline prices, what else was high in September?
Tax bills were high.
Foreclosures were high.
Vacant storefronts were high.
Library change orders were high.
Bankruptcies were high.
Unemployment was high.
Loan rates were high.
That the Supervisor feels, that these Greenburgh highs are worthy of blog topic marginalization, is an indication that he personally may be high from chemical intake. But let's also consider what was low.
Sales prices for homes were low.
The stock market was low.
Public confidence in the economy was low.
Public confidence in the nation's leadership was low.
Public confidence in the Town Board was at a record low.
It really doesn't matter which side of the continuum is chosen: high or low, both stink.
But most of all, what does Mr. Feiner think is so fabulous about high tax collections? If the money weren't coming in as projected, then surely the Town would be shutting down.
One might just as well talk about how many Fairview residents have paid their $300 fee to Xposure? Isn't that a fair question?
Give us the same comfort level as knowing about tax collections. How many parents parted with $300?
Hal don't hold your breath for an answer.
He will say that they qualify for freebees again.
He will take the same route as covering up for thoise that use the center or go to summer camps .
No one pays but the taxpayers.
Imagine a trip to Conneticut this summer cost $10,000.00 which we the taxpayers have to fund.
You can bet none of the children taking this trip paid.
He says that they are poor and cannot afford it.
My children have not taken a trip for some time but I bet if I enrolled them in summer camp I would have to pay big time because of where I live.
Pauls legacy will be creating a class war where there was none -- People are getting fed up with the fraud, waste and abuse at TDYCC.

Whereas you have entered into an agreement to rent space at the Theodore D. Young Community Center, and as a good responsible taxpayer, conscientious of the financial burden placed on our valued town residents, this letter serves to remind you that you owe $20,000.00 in rental fees which was duly noted from last January. Simply put, we taxpayers don’t know where you get the chutzpa from, to go to a town board meeting and play victim while shamelessly pandering to temporary commissioner, Valerie Whitehead. Add to the fact that you put down the efforts of the entire staff, who work hard every day to put out the best programs possible plus contrary to your comment, do indeed welcome everyone who enters through the center’s doors.
Now let’s figure this out:
A Valerie desperately needs money.
+ B You haven’t paid your bill.
= C: More shady wrongdoings!
Can you smell kickback?
It’s highly suspect when the department head praises the efforts of a space renter who is ten months behind in her rental fees. The temp lady should have initiated some efforts to collect money that was due to the town!
Paul, please investigate this.
PS. Gay, I’m sending you some kneepads. They should be useful at your next town board meeting.

A lot of the residents are having trouble making ends meet.
Do you care Feiner?
There is no way that you could lower the taxes if you constantly give money out to the library,center,Bronz center and the parks.
The are the places that you have to curb the spending.
Your taking away services which we enjoyed for many years which is totally wrong.
We pay good money for these serices they should stay as they are.
Your DPW head master has some nerve with what he wants to put into action.
Curbside pickups with the slobs that keep their garbage uncovered that should be investigated by him.
The sanitation men not only pick up the pails but they have to pick up their garbage along the roadways.
Tell him to get off his ass and drive through the streets and see how disasterous his ideas are.
Knowing his mentality he'll go out on a serene day with no wind.
