A possible E Hartsdale Ave goal: Summer jazz concert or jazz concert series

A possible E Hartsdale Ave goal: We should consider an East Hartsdale Ave summer jazz concert or jazz concert series -at Desanti Plaza, near Starbucks.
What's your thought? Would you be interested in helping me organize such an event? If yes, e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com.

Sounds very nice, but not something for the Supervisor to be organizing. If you have an idea, great, but DELEGATE it to the appropriate personnel/committee. Isn't there an arts director on staff who gets paid $50,000/year to manage such?

Again, a jazz concert/series is a fine idea. But "helping me organize such an event" is an inappropriate request the Supervisor who needs to be actively managing day-to-day town operations and financial matters.

THis could be a nice community event that will bring people together. I love jazz. I'm sure that the Supervisor will assign someone from the town staff (parks dept or arts) to run the program. All musical events and cultural activities have been organized by town staff in the past.

Would the area be quiet enough to have an enjoyable listening experience? Nearby traffic would certainly detract from the quality of the performance. A concert would have to start after the evening rush hour and parking should be available and free for those who do not live within walking distance.

WHERE on East Hartsdale Avenue?
Shut down train station...acoustics in a parking garage...parking...

I am not particularly a fan of jazz but I am a fan of any activity that will give enjoyment to townspeople and foster community spirit. Great idea. Go for it.

Great Idea, something special.

The first commenter acts like the supervisor is the president or a mayor. I think he can organize an event and still do his job. Sounds more like a straw man argument than anything.

Nice idea, but unfortunately it's not an appropriate location due to noise, traffic, and parking.

Perhaps better hosted at the Nature Center or one of the town or county parks.

Any action the town takes that will generate more interest in E Hartsdale Ave is positive. Let's try the concert. If it doesn't work at least we know we gave it a try. It may be a big success.

I am very pleased with everything the town has been doing to make East Hartsdale Ave nicer. This concert series could be fun.Only suggestion is that the town should provide chairs.

A summer concert series for the community is a great idea. The train station might not be the best place to have the concerts. How about a bandshell in Webb Field?

Yes, Webb Field would be much better - more accessible for the community.
