GOOD NEWS FROM COUNTY- COUNTY TO DONATE VAN TO TOWN FOR LIBRARY

I received some good news from the county. I had contacted the county asking for a donation - of a van to help the library during the construction. I received some good news yesterday. They will process the request and will donate a van (or vans) to the library during the month of June. This will help the library provide more efficient service to patrons during the construction process.

What exactly will a van be used for?

And where will it be stored?

Paul and the rest of Town board, Please Vote No! on the Volunteer firefighter Tax break

On wednesday night, I would like the council to answer the following questions:

1. What will this cost the town?

2. What benefit does it give a volunteer with an average priced house, and why is the state income tax credit not just as good?

For an answer to the above questions re the volunteer firefighters, see my posting under the topic "Abinanti FAA"

Why did the county donate it? In exchange for what? Sounds potentially shady, particularly since none of the simple questions above have been answered by the supervisor.

Feiner knows how to get other governments to contribute to the town!

But at what cost? It just seems fishy that he hasn't responded to the questions above.

Feiner sure does know how to get other governments to give to the Town - promise them something in return. Central Avenue is a filthy mess because, in return for a one-time State contribution, Feiner promised to maintain the road IN PERPETUITY!

dumb is forever--wrong again! Feiner never agreed to let the town maintain Central Ave. This is a state road, not a town road or responsibility.
Sorry, Mr or Ms. Naysayer!

8:35 get your facts straight before you start puting the blame on Feiner. Central Ave. is a state road ,most of the properties have private sanitation or haven't you noticed. If the road is dirty, put the blame where it belongs, and keep your dumb mouth shut.

Actually, the *fact* is that the town's highway department is responsible for routine maintenance of Central Park Avenue - the roadway, the shoulders, the median strips, etc.

Why can't the board demand that the DPW clean up the mess so that all the complaints end. How long will it take with all the machinery that they have, DPW shut the peoples mouth once and for all. There is enough manpower in your dept. to do this asap.
