BURGLAR CAUGHT IN EDGEMONT!

The Greenburgh police department does an excellent job. Some residents in Edgemont were concerned about burglaries. Today, the police made an arrest. The following is a statement from the police. Congratulations to the department on doing a great job—as usual.!

PAUL FEINER

At approximately 11:15am this date, this agency received a call of a residential burglary that had just occurred in the Edgemont section of Town. The homeowner confronted the suspect inside the home and chased the suspect out. A description of the suspect and his vehicle was broadcast to responding units and subsequently found and stopped by Greenburgh Police. The occupants were positively identified and placed under arrest.

If you get the police out of the ambulances and from inside. They could catch more crooks. This was just luck that the cops weren't tied up on a medical call

And out of the station.

Your both a holes. I hope when you need a cop for a dying relative or yourself OR when a robber is at your house or threatening your family the police don't find out who the anonymous are and have something better to do.

I am tired of absurdly high taxes in Greenburgh and no attempt by the Town Board to get costs under control.

study the PD for yourself, you will find there needs to changes made for a more productive police dept.
They just tell you once in awhile when they catch someone, but never tell you about, all the ones that got away.
why do you think the crooks keep coming back to Edgemont? chances are they won't be caught.

I see in today's JN that the Greenburgh police made 2 drug arrests, one in Dobbs Ferry and one in Tarrytown. If the police have so much extra time they are pusuing criminals outside of unincorporated Greenburgh, they clearly need their budget cut. I am not saying to be silly, and if they are chasing someone on 119, and they reach a boundary, stop before the PD from the appropriate jurisdiction can take over -- but we can not afford to police the entire town. The villages must provide their own police. Paul, you must either look into this, or allocate an appropriate cost to the A budget.

Dear 8:33PM,

The Greenburgh Alcohol and Drug Task Force is comprised of members of both the Town police force and members from many if not all of the Villages. It had been and presumably will be again housed in space in the Ardsley police department area in the Village of Ardsley Municipal building. The only reason they had to temporarily relocate was the construction of a new firehouse in Ardsley, which put space for the construction period at a premium. The Task force also makes arrests in unincorporated Greenburgh using the services of the Village members of the Task Force. This is no "free" ride for anyone.

Well I'll keep on reading the JN, waiting for names of Village police involved in unincorporated Greenburgh arrests. My guess -- a long time acoming.
