WHAT % OF GOVERNMENT STUDY RECOMMENDATIONS GET IMPLEMENTED?

In the 1990s the town completed an open space study. The study led to the acquisition of parkland, a new steep slope and wetlands ordinance. Other recommendations were made. At last nights Town Board meeting I requested Mark Stellato, Commissioner of Planning, to provide the town with a detailed analysis highlighting what recommendations have been implemented, what suggestions have not been implemented, what is under active consideration. I also believe that the public deserves to know if any of the recommendations were rejected.
That study cost the taxpayers over $250,000 to complete. It's important that when the town completes a major study that its recommendations not be allowed to gather dust. I also believe that the Town Board should require annual post reports to be issued after consultant reports are commissioned.

Good suggestion, Supervisor Feiner.

There should always be accountability. I agree with the Supervisor's comments.

Of the parklands that were acquired after the 1990s study, which ones were in Edgemont??

What land would you & the Edgemont school district like to see taken off the tax rolls and turned into parkland. Doesn't the school district want more ratables so Edgemont taxpayers can avoid large double digit tax hikes?

If you want to address costs, I think we in Edgemont would like to stop paying for parks for the villages.

If Edgemont stops paying for parks for village residents can village residents stop paying for your town court which really serves unincorporated Greenburgh, not the villages. Village residents have our own courts.

Government studies make politicians look like they are doing things but sometimes are delaying tactics giving them an excuse to make decisions. In the spring the Town Council passed a resolution asking the Supervisor to propose a sidewalk policy. Sounded like they were doing something. After the Supervisor issued his proposed policy the Town Council forgot about the cause. Nothing has been done by them.

1. NYS law says village residents pay for Town Court -- ask your attorney

2. Why were Emsford prostitutes arraigned at Gburgh town court.

I would have liked to see the land that the apartments behind california pizza kitchen be acquiared for parkland.

the taxes that those units pay doesnt come close to the cost of educating the 20 or so children that live their.

Kudos to Town Planning and Zoning boards that aggreed with builders representation that there would be 1 or 2 children in development. T

Besides the sidewalk proposal that was studied forever (nothing ever happened!) the Town Board has been studying the tree law for years. It's easy to study. It's difficult to take action.
