Are we waiting for a catastrophy to deploy such a vehicle.
With the price of gasoline how could the town afford it.
What is the maintenance, insurance and all the other hidden charges.
Yes donations are good but at what expense.

AS USUAL ANOTHER COLOSSAL WASTE OF MONEY BY THE POLICE DEPT.--

HOW MANY TIMES HAS THE VERY EXPENSIVE "CRIME SCENE" VEHICLE BEEN USED AS WELL AS THE COMMUNICATIONS "COMMAND" UNIT

THIS RANKS RIGHT UP THERE WITH OUR "MARINE UNIT"

I'M SURE HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLES ARE NEXT!!!!

I love the people who post comments here with even knowing what they are talking about. "With the price of gasoline how could the town afford it."

Why not do some research first. Segway's run on electricity not gas.

Here is the benefit to Greenburgh

More and more police agencies world-wide are using the i2 Police. It's the productivity tool for faster response, greater officer visibility and more efficient community policing.
With the i2, police officers have faster response times than foot patrols, greater flexibility and maneuverability than cruisers, and better visibility than either option. Because each officer stands 8-inches higher than the ground, they have an improved perspective on sidewalks and streets and inside buildings, and are also more visible and approachable in community policing situations. For the most versatile policing tool on the market, there's no alternative to the i2 Police.

Where have you seen foot patrol.
8 inches off the ground wowwee. This is just another toy for the dept.
You take one person off of regular patrol to oversee what.
Faster than a cruiser, since when.

It' crazy all the toys the Police are getting and nobody to use them.
their are more inside guys than people on patrol. If they would just patrol like the old days maybe there would not be as many burglaries in Edgemont.

Since it's a donation and useless (imagine maneuvering a segway on the downtown platform at 7:55 AM!), can i borrow it on weekends to explore taxter ridge?

Right on if they patroled like they did years ago,we would be in good condition.
Before we knew the police person today we are lucky if we see one.
Could it be possible since almost every police person has some sort of a college degree,it's beneath them to be on patrol.

I saw an officer riding on it this morning on East Hartsdale Avenue. It was pretty hilarious to see!
