REQUESTING WRITTEN PLAN OF ACTION TO ADDRESS E HARTSDALE AVE FLOODING

I have requested the Public Works Dept to provide members of the Town Board and me with a written "plan of action" regarding action steps that must be taken prior to a storm to reduce the possibility of flooding on E Hartsdale Ave. Today, for example, some of the stores on E Hartsdale Ave, had minor flood issues. If the street experienced a major storm the stores could have had significant flood problems again.
The street is coming back --stores are re-opening. We need to take short term and long term action steps to address this problem.

WE NEED A NEW DPW COMISSIONER. Paul this man has worked against you for a long time. What ever goes wrong in his dept. is your fault. The problem of flooding should have been solved a long time ago.He just doesn't want to do the right thing . It's time for a change. He should resign ,since many are dissatisfied with his handling garbage, leaves, dirty roadways and now the flooding.

Where's Timmy Weinberg? Why isn't she running again?

An emergency contingency plan should have been put in place seven weeks ago when the Nor'easter hit.

The reason is that the town has known since 2005 that the drainage instructure there is inadequate. The town engineer warned in 2005 and again in 2006 that these stores on East Hartsdale Avenue would be vulnerable to a moderate rainstorm.

Feiner was put on notice weeks ago that he'd better come up with a plan. He promised to do it -- but didn't. Some of the merchants who've reopened have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money to get back on their feet. An emergency contingency plan to protect these merchants is the least the town can do.

But only now -- only after another major storm hits -- dopes Feiner say he'll do something.

Sure he will.

Has the current pipe been thoroughly cleaned yet?

The town did not cause the flooding. It's on private property. The town is doing what it can to reduce the possibilities of another serious flood emergency.

Feiner does not do the work of the DPW, that should be done by the commissioner and his crew, He gets paid mega bucks, to do a good job, but he has not met his commitments Yes Feiner will tell him what has to be done ,but the com's, attitude is what the hell does he know. this is what we know al it's time to go.

There must be a civil service procedure to remove a commissioner who is unable or unwilling to do his job. Why hasn't either the Supervisor or a member of the fatuous four begun the process? It can only be because either the Commissioner has interesting photos of each of them, or NONE of them really wants to tackle the issue. Sorry Hal, in this case it would take only 1 to start the ball rolling.

"If the street experienced a major storm the stores could have had significant flood problems again."

Nothing has been done since the last storm?! A big part of the battle would be to flush out the current pipes, grates, etc., no?
