SATELLITE LIBRARY NEEDS CHAIRS, READING AREA- --LIBRARY STAFF DOING A TERRIFIC JOB

The library staff is working very hard. I'm impressed with their dedication and hard work - trying to make the satellite library at Town Hall work.
There is one big problem, however. Inadequate space for people to read, relax.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION: The STAR office at Greenburgh Town Hall is moving to the Assessor's office. The STAR office is located down the hall from the satellite library and is a nice size room. I think this room would make an excellent reading room for the library. We can place comfortable chairs/tables in the room. This room can be the satellite periodical section -with magazines, newspapers.
I am asking the Town Board to consider dedicating this room to the library for a reading room. What do you think? The library should be a place for people to come to for relaxation purposes. We might even be able to put some computers in the room and make it WIFI accessible.

Library patrons need a reading room

This sounds like a fine idea. But before proposing it to the general public, it should be proposed to the library management.

We need to find space SOMEWHERE for a reading and sitting area at the satellite library. ANYWHERE!

The library staff is doing the best they can under the circumstances. The town hall library satellite location is small. Unfortunately, when I take my child to the library there is no place to sit, relax, read a good magazine. I hope the Town Board will consider Supervisor Feiner's suggestion.

I agree! A reading room is a wonderful idea

Mr. Feiner's proposal to make the office currently occupied by the Star program a reading room for the satelitte library is a wonderful idea. The costs of renovating (adding chairs, etc) should be minimal. Thank you Mr. Feiner; I can truly say you really have the people of Greenburgh best interest at heart. Bravo!

Rumor has it that some of the members of the Town Council don't want the library to expand their space at town hall to meet library staffer's and users needs.
Rumor has it that the Town Council has decided to put themselves first and to expand their own office space.
PRIORITIES?

The previous blog does not surprise me. Putting the library first? Ha!

The town council should defer plans to expand their office space so we can have a better satellite library. I think the council should expand their offices after the new library opens. PRIORITIES, please.

If the town council members truly care about the library they should put the needs of the library ahead of their own selfish interests - more space for the library YES. more space for the council NO

The library staff has asked for additional space at town hall. I have offered to let the staff use my conference room, near my office.
