MONDAY, APRIL 20TH GREENBURGH TOWN HALL…FORMATION OF JOB CLUB 2 PM…SPEAKER: RON KATZ
ON Monday, APRIL 20th I will be sponsoring a meeting at Greenburgh Town Hall at 2 PM to discuss the formation of a job club to help residents. We are looking for people who are out of work to join the group. And, also welcome employers who can support the group with postings and job opportunities. Businesses that support the Greenburgh Employment Assistance Job Group can show the community that they are good corporate citizens. Ron Katz, a human resource consultant and management coach will be the speaker at this event. He is a member of the First Unitarian Society of Westchester which is in Greenburgh. For the past six years he led a Job Support Group that has met weekly at the Society. Initially the group was for members of the Society but pretty soon members of the group inquired about bringing friends and neighbors who found themselves in similar straits, i.e., out of work. We opened membership in the Job Support Group to the broader community as part of our community outreach. Meetings are held at the Society but are completely non-denominational. We discuss resumes, interview techniques, searching and sourcing jobs, networking and a battery of other topics and skills critical to finding a new job. Over the past six years we have had just over 40 people attend our meetings. During that time over two dozen have found new jobs and/or careers.
A local newspaper THE HUDSON INDEPENDENT began in its March issue a listing of job opportunities—offering local merchants and small businesses FREE listing of job openings. They are focusing on Irvington, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow. www.thehudsonindependent.com).
Please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com -------all job openings will be posted on my facebook page and sent to people who are looking for work! Your help is appreciated.
