Job Description:

Position Overview:
The Controller is responsible for overall accounting activities of The Children's Village and The Children's Village Institute. It is the Controller’s responsibility to ensure that all accounting transactions are properly authorized and recorded in the general ledger and, all financial reporting is on a timely and accurate basis. The Controller is also responsible for monitoring, reporting and assisting in cash forecasting. Should continually review operating and internal control procedures and present recommendations, where appropriate, for improving the recording and reporting of financial information. Reporting directly to the Controller is the Assistant Director of Accounting.

Qualifications:
BA degree in Accounting. CPA or 5-7 years of related experience. Ability to initiate projects and prioritize task. Ability to motivate and provide instructions to reporting staff. Experience in a not-for-profit organization and the specifics of not-for-profit accounting and reporting, child welfare funding, Medicaid, foster care, federal, state and city funding agencies is desirable.

Starting salary is $75,000 per year.
